Techniques of Controlling Your Baby’s Food Allergy

So many people these days have allergies from either specific food items or air borne substances. Millions of people are suffering from allergies and unfortunately 6% of them are infants and children. You should know that an allergy can be caused at any stage of life because anytime your immune system can overreact to an apparently benign substance and when that happens, your body shows abnormal symptoms.

Being a parent, it is hard to watch your child go through the painful results of an allergic reaction. Therefore, it is important that we take the essential measures so as to manage the allergy and avoid it in the future. There are some specific food items which are known to be the common causes of allergies and you have to make sure your child does not consume those food items.

The symptoms of an allergy could be very severe or they could be very mild. If they are mild, your child might experience slight discomfort such as swollen mouth, tongue, ears or skin. Moreover, you might also itchy rashes appearing on the surface of the skin accompanied by troubled breathing. In some cases, the baby might start to vomit or suffer from diarrhea. If a parent or other member of the family suffers from allergies, there is a good chance your child might inherit the problem. Sometimes, the child might even start developing the problem later in life. Some of the main food allergens are:
• Tree nuts
• Eggs
• Milk
• Fish
• Shellfish
• Peanuts

Therefore, if your child shows signs of allergy, you need to ring up the emergency number because you never know the symptoms could even be lethal. It is your responsibility to determine the severity of the situation.
