Effective ways to deal with peanut allergies
It is hard to believe but the most common allergy is the peanut allergy. It basically prevents people from consuming any product that might have peanuts in it. Apart from being widespread, it is also fatal.
In most cases, the reactions to peanut products are immediate and extreme. When an allergic person consumes nuts, histamine is produced in large quantities in the body. The body sends signals that the nuts being consumed are a hazard and your body starts acting to minimize the danger. This behavior is termed as an allergic reaction. It should be noted that peanuts will always affect a person with a peanut allergy but the symptoms are different for every person.
Many people have to fight peanut allergies long-term. It has been found that the risk of getting a peanut allergy is higher if you have other allergies as well. The science of medicine has progressed but you should keep two things in mind at all times. Firstly, experts do not know what causes allergies for a fact and allergies are always inherited. The peanut allergy occurs once a person comes into contact with the allergens present in the nuts. This contact can be through airborne inhalation, direct consumption or just by handling nuts.
Some symptoms:
• Breathing problems
• Vomiting
• Stomach cramps
• Nausea
• Numbness
• Itching of mouth and throat
Seek medical assistance as soon as you feel any of these signs. This allergy is different from others because its reaction is fast and serious. It can lead to a low blood pressure very soon and breathing problems can take place due to swollen airways. This reaction is called Anaphylaxis.
An allergic reaction to peanuts is brought on after any form of exposure to allergens. They can be inhaled, consumed or encountered during cross-handling of nuts. Check labels on all products to make sure they are nut-free and keep medication with you at all times to take emergency measures-if needed.
