Chlorine Allergy
An allergy occurs when your immune system triggers an adverse reaction to a substance that it sees as a hazard to your health and well being. In most cases, these substances are generally harmless to the average person, classifying them as an allergy. Chlorine is a chemical that has many beneficial uses, the most well known of which is in pools to reduce contamination and keep the water clean. Chlorine is also used in drinking water treatment, to remove germs and bacteria that water usually houses. Even the drinking water that comes from your taps contains small amounts of chlorine that make it suitable for us to drink and consume.
Symptoms of Chlorine Allergy
Individuals who suffer from chlorine allergy usually have reactions that are generally mild. However, some individuals do experience much more serious reactions from their chlorine allergy, and are encouraged to avoid chlorine whenever possible. Some of the symptoms of chlorine allergy include:

• Breathing Complications
• Feeling of Not Being Able To Breath
• Other Breathing Complications
• Skin Irritation in the Form of Rash, Bumps, etc.
Individuals who suffer from very severe reactions to chlorine also notice a very profound effect on their day to day life. Because chlorine is often used in our drinking water, it can be quite the hassle to always keep chlorine-free drinking water on hand. It is also very hard to help children to suffer from chlorine allergy understand that chlorine is used in so many different products that we see on a day to day basis. Pregnant women who suffer from chlorine allergy have been known to experience miscarriages and stillbirths, and should take extra care to avoid chlorine during pregnancy. There are many products available to individuals who suffer from chlorine allergy that serve the same purpose as chlorine, and can be used as a substitute.
