Bee Sting Allergy
Bee sting allergy is a fairly common allergy that many individuals in the states and abroad suffer from. It is classified as a ‘stinging insect’ allergy, and is usually caused by honeybees, wasps, ants and other flying insects. The adverse reactions of bee sting allergy are caused when your body’s immune system over reacts to a substance that it deems as harmful. In this case, that substance is the venom that is injected to you during the sting. While this venom is generally harmless for the average person and rarely causes more than some mild skin irritation and itchiness, individuals suffering from bee sting allergy can have a much tougher time dealing with more severe symptoms caused by their bee sting allergy.
Symptoms of Bee Sting Allergy
Symptoms of bee sting allergy for the average individual are generally mild, and only usually include general skin irritation in the form of rash, bumps and swelling. Individuals who are particularly sensitive to bee stings may develop a much more dangerous symptom called anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis can affect multiple body organs, and can even put the individual into anaphylactic shock. Most deaths due to bee sting allergy are actually caused by anaphylaxis and anaphylactic shock. Symptoms of anaphylaxis include but are not limited to:
• Constriction of Airways in the lungs
• Anaphylactic Shock
• Severe Drop In Blood Pressure, and Other Blood Complications
• High Than Usual Pulse
• Dizziness That Won’t Go Away
• Confusion And Paranoia
• Loss Of Consciousness

Treatment
Individuals suffering from bee sting allergy are encouraged to stay away from situations that heighten the chances of them being stung. If you suffer from the allergy and find yourself in a location that is surrounded by bee’s, by a nest, or out in the woods, try to find a safe place to wait until dusk before returning. There are numerous creams and ointments available for individuals looking to lessen the skin irritation associated with bee sting allergy.
